GLSEN Washington State/YSPP Training

GLSEN Washington State/YSPP Training
The Youth Suicide Prevention Program (YSPP) and the Washington State Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN) are pleased to present Safe and Accepted: LGBTQ Youth Suicide Prevention and Intervention.

This training, part of YSPP’s acclaimed OUTLoud series, addresses what puts LGBTQ youth at risk of depression and suicide, steps supportive educators and service providers can take toward prevention, and basic skills to identify and intervene in a crisis. You will leave with LGBTQ-positive resources for suicide prevention and basic intervention strategies appropriate for all of your students and clients. This training is ideal for GSA advisors, supportive teachers or youth workers, and anyone who works with a LGBTQ club or youth group.

The training will take place from 4:45 to 6:30 PM on Friday, November 30, 2012. It will be held in Seattle University’s Pigott Hall (for a campus map and directions, please click here). All are welcome, and admission is FREE.

Please register at by November 28, 2012. For more information, contact YSPP’s King County Trainer, Karyn Brownson, at 206-297-5922 x118
